the weather is changing & i’m not happy about this, i’m not a winter girl. sure, i know how to dress but that doesn’t mean i enjoy it. i’m not looking forward to the triple layers, not even a little bit. when i finally dragged myself out of bed & had a shower that nearly burnt my skin, i layered up. out i went for some juice. i came home & made myself some oatmeal which marks the first oats of the year.

oh glorious oats, i have & haven’t missed you. sure, when i’m freezing cold & want my belly feeling all warm & cozy, i realize i’ve missed you. on the other hand, you remind me that i’m embarking on a journey into winter & that seriously bothers me – i.hate.the.cold.

i used summer fruit & thankfully, this helped. mentally, i used my imagination & dreamed of eating this berries on a HOT island somewhere. the illusion was slightly ruined when i had to defrost them & heat them in a fry pan. why can’t berries be available all year around?

the soup spoon is filled with dark chocolate dreams. i actually had a dream about this stuff, i’ve been telling everyone about it. luckily for me, i’ve got a friend headed over to the US & by may, i’ll have more. i’m addicted to this stuff, i keep sneaking spoonfuls.

in the juice: orange, mango, strawberry & blueberry.
yes, it’s love. this juice actually makes my heart flutter. i’m pretty sure the hot oats & the near freezing juice was confusing on my belly but i’ll get over it, it’ll be fine.

on a cold day, oatmeal is the best. it’s warm & tastes like heaven in my stomach.

i’ve added berries, kashi cereal & supercrack jam to the top, i loved the little extra bit of crunch into my morning.

after loving the oatmeal, i sipped on a soy latte after my training session with lily.

we braved the COLD weather to head into see Laura at the Hilton.

Laura invited us to the Executive Lounge for afternoon tea.

i came home for fruit, as i always do.

something about ‘mj‘ that i like is that he has the ability to bring home very interesting treats.

tasty day.

i begun my morning with a huge bowl.

in the bowl:

• oatmeal
• kiwifruit
• prunes
• banana
• raspberries
• mango

i decided to give eat pray love a try, even after i failed to finish the book. i grabbed my supplies & threw her in the dvd player. who doesn’t watch a movie with a few treats & pellegrino?

my impression:
long. it was a loooooooooonnggg movie but it was sweet & julia roberts is stunning, her laugh is infectious. the movie wouldn’t have worked without her.

we headed to a christmas party for our building, being new is very awkward at these kinds of parties but our neighbors are incredible. pyrmont is a serious community.

as we made our nibbles for the party, i snacked on biscuits with hummus & a chocolate chip cookie.

our beautiful platters:

i snacked on a few eggs & carrots plus celery. i overindulged in snacks today & ended up not being hungry when it came around to dinner.

i’ve gone & done it again. i’ve cheated. i’ve walked up the street & bought myself a container of oatmeal. i can’t make it right, i’m thinking it’s the oats i’m using!

flora just makes it better than i can. plus who can turn down the fantastic price. $6.50 & it’s more than one meal if you add a massive amount of delicious toppings.

in the bowl:

we anticipate that by friday we’ll have two toilets again. “the chefette’s” is a night time bathroom user & it’s kind of annoying.

breakfast was a delight. once again, i made the oatmeal last three days.

as you can imagine, that wasn’t it.

i burnt my toast so i knew i’d need wet ingredients to soften it up.

one half had nature’s buttttah.

the other half had baked beans. i really do love my heinz baked beans.

i’m hoping my sheets will be dry by tonight when i see you.

as far as oatmeal goes. i’m great at reheating oatmeal & i’m not so great at making it myself. i struggle with the ratios, those things scare me.

i’m presenting you with beans on toast, yummy.

i spent the afternoon driving around & running errands.

the city is an interesting place to drive around, if you are heading places & know secret roads.

afterwards, i hung out with gina & her puppy lotti.

lovely walk, lovely afternoon.

because someone throws out all their magazines & i get free magazines for the week.

they are december issues & perfect for me to read in the sun while tanning.

it’s hot, humid & great tanning weather.

breakfast was outside in the sun.

i’m a cheater, i bought my oatmeal then carted it home & dressed it.

i surrounded my oatmeal with mango & topped it with pretzel m&m’s plus sultanas. delicious combo if i do say so myself.

my belly required a snack about 45 minutes later so i:
a) toasted some bread
b) mashed avocado & added lemon
c) grated carrot
d) assembled

i’ve got over 100 emails to deal with, numerous calls to make & shopping to do so i’ll see you tonight.

turns out, it was too much yesterday so i finished them off.

toast with vegemite was had just prior to my gym session.

out the door we went, we ended up in at st moritz chocolate lounge.

i ordered a drink.

inside was glorious hot chocolate, thick & delicious.

for lunch, i was nearly about to order a disgustingly tasty crepe covered in gosh knows what but i went with a sandwich.
in the sandwich:

• chicken breast
• spinach
• tomato

i came home after a little window shopping. saving for a nikon has taken the fun out of shopping. sadface.

i finished off the brioche simply because i couldn’t let it go stale.

steamed vegetables for dinner because the hot chocolate made my stomach uneasy.

i get in the way.

i’m very often not ready for a picture.

sure, i have my fair share of tragic photographs but i’m about to redeem myself. plus explain my day.

lets start at the beginning, with breakfast, that was exceptional this morning.
in my oats this morning:

• chia seeds
• sultanas
• blueberries
• rhubarb & apple confit
• banana

plus brioche.

we headed into the city to run some errands, we ventured over the pyrmont bridge.

this bridge has history for me. flash back to circa 1992:

after we finished our errands & stopped in at helm bar for coffee.

on the walk home we discovered that pyrmont has the christmas spirit.

we stopped in for a fresh juice as the weather was steaming.
in the juice:

• frozen mango
• mixed berries
• apple juice

last stop was iced coffee with nelson at the cooperage cafe.

i’d much rather pay $7.50 for my oatmeal to be made for me. plus i get enough for two breakfast. cue laziness!

i like my oatmeal with a:

• skim latte
• banana
• jam

i like taking the scenic route home, even if i’m in a hurry.

i have an incredibly unhealthy obsession with coffee.

my life DOES revolve around fruit.
