Sickness won’t win

Oh dear me. I woke up with a killer sore throat & a runny nose. It’s not plesant & it’s far from attractive.

I got right on the case with boiling water & ginger, garlic, lemon & honey. Drink of champions

My Eats

BREAKFAST

I decided on this spreadI tried a new Wholemeal Sourdough Bread & wasn’t impressed at all. When toasted it became the hardest bread in the world, I was left with a sore jaw & buyers remorse.
One slice had Heinz Baked Beans & the other had VegemiteI love a big bowl of fruit in the morning

LUNCH

I whipped up a huge salad. In the bowl: baby spinach, red cabbage & apple, beetroot, almonds, coleslaw mix, cherry tomatoes & Praise Balsamic Fat Free Dressing

SNACK

I headed out for a coffee late in the afternoon. I had a Skinny Latte & three mouthfuls of Poppyseed cake with Vanilla Bean Ice-cream. I’m not a fan of cream cheese frosting so I only ate the insides.

DINNER

The fridge was basically empty & the weather was freezing so I oped for some home delivery.
A few locals have been raving about Wok Station & I decided to give it a try.
My first issue was with the menu. Some of the dishes had a title but no description of what was in the dish which made it quite confusing. My friend recommended I try a dish that had no description so I had to clarify this with the restaurant before ordering.

Tom Yum Goong – Tomato base with prawns, chili, mushrooms, onion & lemongrass. Interesting combination of flavors that worked well together despite the over use of oil, it was great for a cold night. Simmering Seafood – Hot chili & garlic stir fried with your choice of seafood, snow peas, young corn, mushrooms finished with basil. (I added Steamed Veggies).
Despite the fact that the seafood was possibly frozen, I enjoyed the massive amount of vegetables in this dish.

As far as I’m concerned, home delivery isn’t the way to go.
I really didn’t enjoy this meal. The food was just alright & I was left with a weird feeling about what I’d just eaten.
I’ve decided it either home cooked or restaurant eats from now on.

  1. Living in an area with quite a few small eateries, the husband and I will pop out for a quick bite when I don’t feel like cooking. But if it’s absolutely freezing and/or bucketing down then we usually make do with what’s at home. Homemade pizza is a great option for weather like that =)
